IP telephones are becoming a regular part of our offices

Wherever it is suitable to use a well-built LAN network for telephoning, 2N NETSTAR offers without additional investment (all is included in the basic price) the possibility of connecting up to dozens of telephones in classic desktop format (IP phone) or in the form of PC phones (soft IP phones). The generally-available SIP protocol is supported.
2N NETSTAR offers IP telephones of the same design and with similar features as the 2N StarPoint system terminals.

Interconnection of corporate WAN network branches is usable for telephoning

2N NETSTAR can be connected via LAN ports to a (geographically) remote telephone device that supports IP telephony, without the need to install external “voice” routers. In the simpler scenario, a set of remote IP telephones can be connected, and in more complex cases the entire PBX (2N NETSTAR or 2N OMEGA). The connected remote lines can then be classified as 2N NETSTAR stations, with the advantage of unified numbering and sharing of all the services from the parent PBX.
For WAN networks, where it is necessary to save the transfer band, 2N NETSTAR is preparing a VoIP Accelerator module that compresses the call channel pursuant to the G.723 and G729 standards.

The IP telephone behaves like any other 2N NETSTAR terminal

Because IP telephony is a basic feature of 2N NETSTAR, the behaviour of IP lines is identical to other types of telephones. Its features will be valuable particularly to network administrators who are not obliged to set separate parameters for classic phones and IP telephones. Everything can be handled clearly and at once using the 2N NETSTAR Administrator programming instrument. The same applies for the evaluation of operation, where network logs from the Proxy service are no longer needed for a summarised review (the administrator would have to invest much effort in obtaining them). Instead, these calls are recorded in a regular manner in the 2N NETSTAR Billing program.

IP telephone during trips

The example of use at 2N TELEKOMUNIKACE documents that travelling with an IP telephone can save substantial company expenses. However, it does not have to be an IP telephone transported in a briefcase. Every travelling businessman’s laptop can contain an IP Soft phone from one of the renowned manufacturers (use is generally still for free). If this telephone is logged on as a 2N NETSTAR station anywhere in the world, all company calls will be directed to this location via Internet. Thus you can arrange your office easily from any place with Internet connection (business partner’s office, via WiFi at the airport or hotel, at an Internet café on your holiday). Naturally, all of this without telephone fees, and with the possibility of convenient direct dialling to the local network in your country (cheap calls to your spouse from a business trip at the expense of the company).
